Why Choose Virtual Care?

Less time off work and distance travelled to get to appointments (especially if you live in remote areas of Ontario)
An easier way to “break the ice” when talking about sensitive pelvic health issues and no need to wear a mask or reschedule an appointment during cold & flu season
No need to coordinate childcare for appointments or leave your home (especially if you’re newly postpartum)!

What is involved in a virtual assessment?

It all starts with a conversation about your past medical history, current symptoms, contributing factors and goals. Feel free to share as much or little as you like, and there is no such thing as TMI or “too much information”!

Be ready to move! Through videoconferencing, your posture, breathing, mobility, flexibility, strength, balance and function may be observed.

Guided self-palpation (this is externally and only if you feel comfortable doing so) of tender areas and core muscles to ensure correct activation during exercises.

Questionnaires may be administered to get an idea of your thoughts, feelings and beliefs about your symptoms to address your concern holistically.

How will my symptoms be treated virtually?

All Physiotherapy conditions can be treated in a substantial way by education and knowledge transfer, by movement and exercise, by collaborating with other healthcare providers and by actively participating in your own care (self-efficacy).

Why Choose Us

Northern Pelvic Connection provides pelvic health and whole body physiotherapy for underserved areas of northern Ontario. As per the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, virtual care may be a good option for those who live in remote communities, who have transportation issues and who cannot access a Physiotherapist in person. Virtual care is offered province-wide, but is especially applicable for northern Ontario residents where services are limited within local communities.
